Brain Plasticity Lab

June 05, 2018

The Applied Neuromuscular Physiology (ANP) Lab is pleased to announce the opening of a new satellite laboratory, the Brain Plasticity Lab.  The new lab is equipped with brain imaging (fNIRS) and brain stimulation (both TMS and tDCS) equipment to help investigate changes in brain function with aging, training, fatigue and more.

OSU ANP Lab helps increase Brain Awareness

March 16, 2018

Dr. Jason DeFreitas, and two of his doctoral students, Alejandra Barrera-Curiel and Jesús Hernandez-Sarabia, partnered up with faculty and students from the OSU Center for Health Sciences to provide a Brain Awareness workshop.  The workshop took place at the Tulsa Children's Museum, and gave members of the public a chance to learn how the brain controls movement.  They even had the opportunity to touch a real, human brain!

OSU ANP Lab visits Auburn for Research Collaboration

October 20, 2016

Faculty and Doctoral students from the Applied Neuromuscular Physiology Laboratory at Oklahoma State University visited Auburn University to perform a collaborative research project.  The study examined the effects of fatigue on neural (motor unit behavior) and histochemical properties of muscle.  OSU brought their equipment for neural measurements to combine with Auburn's ability to perform muscle biopsies. The faculty involved in this collaboration are Drs. Nathaniel Jenkins (OSU), Jason DeFreitas (OSU), Michael Roberts (Auburn), Kaelin Young (Auburn), and Jeff Martin (Auburn).
